This flying Poster, trailers about this movie , Ben Stiller himself may give you an initial impression that it is a comedy movie, but I would say the movie is more of drama. I would have preferred a poster like the one at the bottom of this post which will reflect the exact genre of this movie.
Year : 2013
Cast : Ben Stiller, Kirsten
Direction : Ben Stiller
Ben Stiller is a day dreamer and an average performer goes beyond his own imagination to complete his final responsibility. The management of the magazine decides to close its business and Ben Stiller gets an inspiration to go to any level to complete his final responsibility for the employer in which he served for 16 years.
The movie takes turns in a crazy way yet kept the audience attached. The imagination of the story goes beyond our imagination at one point and we start enjoying watever Ben Stiller does. Final twist was unexpected and emotional.
Not a comedy movie but a adventurous Drama. Good movie among the lot during this Christmas season

47 Ronin review
Year : 2013
Cast : Keanu Reeves as Kai, Others I dont know :P All are Japanese actors I think
Direction : Carl Rinsch
Matrix fame Keanu Reeves is one of the reason we went to this movie but we all found the movie reasonably good. The courage and sacrifice of 47 samurai's to take revenge for the death of their King is the subject of this movie. Among this 47 is half Japanese and half British Kai ( Our Hero) who was trained by Demons. The movie is fast paced action movie with no twists in screen play as it is a real life story. We have seen many Indian movies with similar stories back in 1970's. This one is a modern version of our old stories.
Visual effects, superb action sequence and moving story are the major positives of this movie. The sacrifice of these 47 samurai could have been told with little more emotions during the movie. Its only before climax Director want to show everything about the sacrifice.
Nice movie to watch.

Mynaa Movie Review
I just went into this movie on the day of deepavali night..."Good to see once"
Year : 2010
Cast : Vidharth, Amala Pal, Thambi Ramaiah
Direction : Prabhu Soloman

This movie different from the other Tamil movies is quite different from the way the screenplay is made. You will travel the mountain side of kerala in this movie with this director.
Hero (Churli) is an illeterate and madly in love with Mynaa. Their love story continues from their childhood. You can feel a slight sense of Paruthi Veeran during those scenes. Mynaa's mother who is quite indifferent from other mothers of tamil movies plans to get her daughter married with a wealthy person. Angry Hero hits the athai and he is jailed .The real story starts.
Churli escapes from jail on a Deepavalli to save Mynaa and the prison officials are in soup. Jailor and Constable travels to his village to bring Churli back. The comedy of the constable charecter is amazing and that was one of the few things which stays in heart when you come out.
Worth watching today even if you have missed it earlier

Biryani Movie Review
Its one of rare week ends when there are two Tamil movies got released and both are watchable and good. Both Biryani and Endrendum Punnagai are good.
Year : 2013
Cast : Karthik, Premji, Hansika
Direction : Venkat Prabhu
1st half is full of comedy and more comedy attempts :P. Premji again doing a role similar to his other roles in Saroja and Mankatha. Time for Premji to start doing some other kind of comedy. Hansika has lost some weight and looking better. Karthick has done a good job both as lover boy and action hero.
The movie leaves you to the break with a good twist and from that point movie gets its speed. Humour was sprinkled even in serious scenes and the movie had really good twists.
Saroja, Mankatha and now Biryani. I would say hatrick for Venkat Prabhu. I would certainly recommend this movie for someone looking weekend fun.

Andha Naal_ Review
Based on a recommendation, watched a Tamil movie 'Andha Naal ' acted by Sivaji and releaased in 1954. Could not believe it was taken 60 years back.
Year : 1954
Cast : Shivaji, Pandari Bhai. Seetharaman
Direction : Veenai Balachandar
Link : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MTJqydKdGmc
What a brave attempt at that point ..1. A thriller which was new for Tamil Cinema 2. Worth spending 140 minutes in this movie which didnt had a single song.. during that time every Tamil cinema had a minimum of 8 songs 3. Nice plot to start a thriller and movie goes through different version. Last 30 minutes conversations can easily be related to some of present issues.
@ Interested and completly vetti Tamil folks : Movie is in youtube for free. This is not a recommendation but just an information. Dont damage me with your comments if you dont like it.

Endrendum Punnagai Review
Santhanam got his rhythm back and regained his pride which he totally lost in 'All in all Alaguz Raja". The movie has good comedy scenes which can be compared to " Boss engira Baskaran". We went as a group of 5 friends to this movie and we enjoyed a lot.
Jeeva is getting matured as a seasoned actor but at the same time his "waist line" is also increasing :P When compared to young Bollywood and Telugu who thinks maintaining fitness as a basic criteria to be hero of a movie, our Tamil heroes are taking the fitness part for granted. Vinay who did well as a friend looked like a 'drug addict' with a huge belly. Thrisha still looks pretty. The movie has good storyline and it was enough to take us till climax.
Songs of this movie which was already a big hit before the release is an added advantage. My personal best " Kaadhal naan than "
But it was the comedy and spontaneous one line humour which makes this movie a " Must watch " for tamil movie lovers.
